NBA Prop Bets

Al Horford Over 16.5 Pts + Reb (-115)

Kristaps Porzingis is out for the Boston Celtics tonight, which means veteran Al Horford will get the starting nod.

Horford's role off the bench this season is not one of a scorer, but with Porzingis out, he gets work done.

In three games without Porzinigis this season, Horford is averaging 22.7 combined points and rebounds (PR). One of these games was against tonight's competition, the Philadelphia 76ers. Horford managed 22 PR in his last game against Philly and always seems to have more pep in his step against his former team-turned-rival. Horford's time in Philadelphia is infamous, and he has been engrossed in this Sixers-Celtics rivalry.

The Sixers give up the 12th-most points in the paint per game. Horford scores 36.4% of his points in this area. Joel Embiid (illness) is questionable for tonight's game, and if he sits, it could create extra rebounding opportunities for Horford -- the Sixers allow 41.9 rebounds with Embiid (fourth-least) but 44.0 rebounds without Embiid (13th-least).

Horford's history with Philly is intriguing, but Porzingis' absence will be most helpful for the over here. Horford averages 20.4 PR per 36 minutes while not on the court with him.

R.J. Barrett Over 18.5 Points (-108)

I think we could be in for a monster RJ Barrett game against the Toronto Raptors tonight. Barrett is averaging 18.8 points on 29.5 minutes this season, but this matchup and Julius Randle's questionable status (knee) should lend to even more success.

Last season, Barrett averaged 20.0 points in three games without Randle. This year, he's scoring 21.1 points per 36 minutes with Randle on the court, while he's scoring 25.5 points per 36 minutes with Randle off the court. While we can't rely on Randle to be out tonight, we can have faith in this matchup against Toronto.

Barrett scores 40.8% of his points in the paint and 23.7% off turnovers. The Raptors allow the 12th-most points in the paint and the 10th-most points off turnovers. Barrett leads all New York Knicks players in field-goal attempts (FGA) from 20-24 feet from the basket and has a 46.5 field-goal percentage (FG%) from this range -- Toronto allows the 11th-most FGA from this area.

In three games against the Raptors last season, Barrett averaged a towering 30.7 points (28.6 points in regulation), and scored 26-plus points in all three games.

A close spread (2.5 points) should result in decent usage, and Barrett is averaging 21.1 points per game when he plays 30 minutes or more.

Given his historic dominance against Toronto and the possibility of Randle being out, I think it may be worth laddering Barrett's point props. You can get RJ Barrett To Score 20+ Points at +115, To Score 25+ Points at +290, and To Score 30+ Points at +800.

Grant Williams Over 10.5 Points (-106)

Luka Doncic (personal reasons) has been ruled out for tonight's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, and Kyrie Irving can't be the only player who shoots the ball tonight for the Dallas Mavericks.

Grant Williams is not known for being a reliable scoring option, but with Doncic out, he becomes third on the team in FGA per game. Plus, Tim Hardaway Jr. is questionable, and if he sits, Williams moves into the second spot for FGA per game on the Mavs.

Williams averages 9.8 points per game, but increased usage and a decent matchup should set him up nicely for 11-plus points.

Memphis allows the sixth-most 3PA per game, and Williams scores 72.3% of his points from behind the arc. He's not afraid to shoot from downtown, and tonight's Doncic-less matchup against a 3PA-sacrificing team should prove that.

Williams scored 15 points (4-8 3P) against Memphis earlier this season. He averages 11.7 points per 36 minutes with Doncic on the court, while he averages 16.0 points per 36 minutes with Doncic off the court. I think the over is the side to be on tonight, and I'd also check out Grant Williams Over 2.5 Made Threes at +124.
