3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Wednesday 6/12/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

MLB Player Props

Aaron Judge to Record 3+ Total Bases (-105)

The best hitter on the planet has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon, so let's take Aaron Judge to Record 3+ Total Bases (-105) tonight.

Judge's heroics at the plate have been detailed time and time again these last few weeks, but he's not showing signs of slowing down. He currently has a .476 wOBA and 1.149 OPS -- both of which are lead the majors comfortably. It's not a surprise seeing his 25 home runs lead the league as well.

In June alone, Judge has 5 home runs, 17 RBIs, and a .533 batting average. That turns out to be a 1.850 OPS and .726 wOBA over nine games. It's just otherworldly, which spells trouble for the Kansas City Royals tonight.

New York has the best implied total of the night at 5.72, per numberFire's heat map, against Royals' opener Dan Altavilla and bulk pitcher Daniel Lynch.

Altavilla has only pitched one inning this season but has a career SIERA of 4.07.

It's more so Lynch we will look to tonight -- which means that the Yankees may be teeing off. Over 16 innings pitched, Lynch is allowing a 55.1% fly-ball rate and has a 4.87 SIERA. The lefty is watching righty hitters record a .363 wOBA against him as well. And in his last start, he allowed eight runs in four innings.

Judge and the Yankees are going to have a big night.

Bobby Witt Jr. to Record 2+ Total Bases (-155)

Good news for the Royals: Aaron Judge isn't the only hot hitter playing in this series. They have one of their own in superstar Bobby Witt Jr..

Kansas City has the second-best implied total of the slate, coming in with a 4.78 against Yankees' starter Cody Poteet.

The righty has thrived through three starts as highlighted by his 1.72 ERA. If you dive a bit deeper, however, he's a pitcher who the Royals can and should break through against. Poteet is sporting a 4.16 SIERA and a 5.47 expected ERA (xERA) -- showing that he's been lucky thus far.

That brings us to Witt to Record 2+ Total Bases (-155) -- something that has been part of his games almost daily at this stage.

Kansas City's star shortstop is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak and has hits in 22 of his last 23 games. In 7 of the 12 games through his hitting streak, he's managed to record two or more total bases. It's hard to not love him to do the same tonight in an inviting matchup.

On the season, Witt has 36 extra-base hits via 18 doubles, 7 triples, and 11 home runs. He's hitting .321 with a .394 wOBA, .237 ISO, and .929 OPS.

I fully expect Witt to be the spark that helps the Royals figure things out after taking a rough 10-1 loss to the Yankees last night.

Freddie Freeman to Record an RBI (+125)

From one dominant lineup to another, I like Freddie Freeman to Record an RBI (+125) against the Texas Rangers.

Freeman has been consistent once again this season. He's hitting .297 with a .387 wOBA, .201 ISO, and .899 OPS. But I'm looking for him to drive in runs from his usual three-spot in the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup.

On the RBI front, he's driven in 43 -- including six in his last five games. The Dodgers have had a carousel of talent at the bottom of their lineup this year, so they turn to their top of the lineup as much as any team would -- maybe even more.

When facing the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers, the Dodgers will need their core all the more.

Los Angeles has a solid 4.68 implied total against the Rangers and their starting pitcher Jon Gray.

The 32-year-old has been strong through 12 games with a 2.12 ERA and 2.46 FIP. Gray's expected numbers are much higher though with a 3.94 xERA and 3.45 expected FIP (xFIP). The SIERA is up at 3.59 as well, meaning that the Dodgers can make some noise.

Furthermore, the struggles for Gray do appear against lefties as they're recording a .313 wOBA, .365 slugging, and 1.46 WHIP against the starter.

Freeman kills righties this season -- .427 wOBA, .242 ISO, and a 1.007 OPS. Let's roll with him tonight in an inviting matchup against Gray and Texas.
