3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 6/4/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

MLB Player Props

Ryan McMahon to Record an RBI (+120)

Ryan McMahon has been the best hitter for the Colorado Rockies this season, so let's roll with him to bring the offense tonight.

The Rockies will have the comforts of home in Coors Field to help them out as they take on the Cincinnati Reds. Game 1 between these two teams resulted in 16 runs, with 13 of them coming from the Reds. I expect the Rockies to be in it a bit more today, at least offensively, as Frankie Montas takes the mound.

Montas has had a rough first season with the Reds. He has a 4.60 ERA and a 4.72 expected ERA (xERA) -- which is in the 20th percentile, per Baseball Savant. Montas has the worst SIERA of his career at 4.88 and is allowing 1.34 HR/9. That's probably not going to play well at Coors Field.

With Montas holding a 5.07 FIP and 40.9% fly-ball rate, it's easy to picture a strong night for the Rockies.

A solid 4.90 implied total -- per numberFire's heat map -- has the Rockies set up for a good night.

McMahon has hit well through 58 games. He's batting .284 with a .368 wOBA, .186 ISO, 10 home runs, and 34 RBIs. It's the RBIs that we are banking on, as McMahon's spot in the order (third) gives him a good chance to come through tonight in a nice matchup.

Cody Bellinger to Record 2+ Total Bases (-115)

The Chicago Cubs are in the midst of a tough run, but they are in a good spot for offense tonight.

numberFire's heat map gives them the second-best implied total of the night at 5.55 against the Chicago White Sox and their starter Chris Flexen.

Flexen has been a pitcher to make picks against, as he's been slammed in his 54 innings. The righty has hurled his way to a 5.50 ERA and 4.74 SIERA -- not great. He is allowing a 1.41 WHIP and 1.33 HR/9 to opposing lineups.

Cody Bellinger is the bat you want from the Cubs' lineup, so let's take him to Record 2+ Total Bases (-115).

The former NL MVP had a rough start to the season but turned things around in May. Last month, he hit .290 with a .348 wOBA and .800 OPS -- starting to look like he did last season with the Cubs. He's been able to notch 19 extra-base hits thus far with 8 home runs, 10 doubles, and a triple. Bellinger's 53.9% fly-ball rate gives him a shot to deliver on this prop in one swing.

Run with the star outfielder to shine for Chicago in a plus matchup.

Jordan Westburg to Record an RBI (+150)

I am looking for runs from the Baltimore Orioles' lineup tonight, and I like Jordan Westburg to be the guy to Record an RBI (+150).

Westburg wrecks right-handed pitching, and the Toronto Blue Jays are expected to have Bowden Francis handle the bulk of the innings today.

Francis has appeared in only five games this season, but those innings have not been quality. In 14 2/3 innings, he has a rough 8.59 ERA and 6.00 FIP while allowing 18 hits and 4 home runs. The O's can do damage against him today.

Westburg has done nothing but impress this season. He may not be the big name like Gunnar Henderson or Adley Rutschman, but he's right behind both of them with 36 RBIs. Westburg's spot in the lineup varies, but he's usually in the middle of the order. And as noted, he delivers against right-handed pitchers. He has a .311 average against them with a .388 wOBA and .897 OPS.
