Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

MLB Prop Bets

Matt Olson to Record an RBI (+155)

At +155 odds to drive in a run, I'll take that all day with Matt Olson. The 2023 RBI leader has a chance to get his season started off on the right foot in his first game of the year.

Olson was a driving force in the record-setting Atlanta Braves lineup. Hitting fourth behind Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley is as good as it gets in terms of a spot for RBI chances. It'll be a tough matchup against Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler -- but it shouldn't stop Olson from delivering in this spot.

The power of Olson pushed him to 139 RBIs last season, 21 more than the next best hitter in baseball. A lot of those RBIs came from an MLB-leading 54 yaks. FanGraphs' Depth Charts projections (FGDC) is expecting Olson to finish with elite numbers once again, projecting him for 118 RBIs in 2024.

The first baseman had a hard-hit percentage of 42.7% a year ago, highlighting his ability to drive the ball. That will be important against a pitcher like Wheeler.

I'm taking Olson to Record an RBI in this 3:05 p.m. ET game.

Mookie Betts to Record 3+ Total Bases (+195)

Mookie Betts has been on a tear to start the season, knocking seven hits in his first three games. Let's bank on him to shine again tonight.

Betts to Record 3+ Total Bases feels like a big task. However, he's notched more than that in two out of three games already. Over the first trio of games, the Los Angeles Dodgers' outfielder has recorded two, eight, and four total bases -- good for 14 in three games.

In 2023, the former American League MVP had 50 games of three or more total bases, displaying the skill to do this on a consistent basis. He's also smacked home runs in back-to-back games.

The St. Louis Cardinals will be starting Zack Thompson in this one. The southpaw had a 37.8% hard-hit rate against him last season while working as both a reliever and starter. Betts and company shouldn't have a problem creating offense today, much like they did in the first game against St. Louis yesterday.

Betts had a gaudy 1.097 OPS and .450 wOBA against lefties in 2023, lining him up to continue swinging a hot bat tonight.

Julio Rodriguez to Record 2+ Hits (+210)

Julio Rodriguez is locked in as an AL MVP candidate this season (+1000 odds to win the AL MVP). Tonight is a good chance for him to get going.

On Opening Day, Rodriguez was able to nab one hit in his four at-bats, and we know he's one of the most talented players in the game.

I like Rodriguez to Record 2+ Hits tonight based on the matchup. Nick Pivetta will start for the Boston Red Sox. The righty hurler has a career 1.35 WHIP as he's one to give up offense in his career. While Pivetta did flash swing-and-miss stuff last year with a strong swinging-strike rate (13.1%), it isn't enough to fade J-Rod. He flashed a hard-hit rate of 38.7% one year ago. There should be room to do damage tonight.

The Seattle Mariners' centerfielder had 50 games last season of two or more hits. It's a good time to have confidence in Rodriguez tonight at these +210 odds.
