College Basketball Prop Bets

Vanderbilt vs. Arkansas, 7:00 p.m. ET

Khalif Battle Over 20.5 Points (-120)

Arkansas Razorbacks guard Khalif Battle is the nation's current scoring leader... over the last five games.

Battle has gone scorched earth to close out the season, averaging 32.6 points per game with a 33% usage rate. He's averaging an eye-popping 14.8 free throws per game over that stretch, converting his freebies at a 93% clip. That said, Battle's been lights out from all over the floor. In this five-game sample, Khalif is shooting 51% overall and 39% from beyond the arc.

The fifth-year transfer has had an up-and-down season for Arkansas, mirroring his team's inconsistencies. Still, he'd averaged at least 15.0 points per game in each of the last three seasons with Temple, so it's not surprising to see him finally piece together a strong stretch of games.

Battle netted 36 points in a February 27th matchup with the Vanderbilt Commodores, so we can certainly look for him to go over 20.5 points (-120) in tonight's rematch.

Vandy is no stranger to allowing high-scoring totals. The Commodores finished with the SEC's second-worst defensive rating and allowed 78.6 points per game in conference play. They gave up the highest effective field goal percentage and most three-pointers in the conference, simultaneously allowing the second-highest three-point field goal percentage to SEC opponents.

Though I'm often wary to wager on points props this high, tonight's game environment is ripe for another Battle breakout. The over/under is set at 148.5, and Arkansas has a 77.0 implied total.

If the -120 odds don't suit your fancy, you can get Arkansas to Win and Khalif Battle to Score 20+ Points at +110. Arkansas is favored by 5.5 points, and their spread is among Wednesday's college basketball best bets. The Razorbacks are 6-4 when Battle scores at least 20 points.

Air Force vs. New Mexico, 7:00 p.m. ET

JT Toppin Over 10.5 Points (-125)

The New Mexico Lobos have Wednesday's highest implied total (80.0), so it's logical to target some of their points props.

In their matchup with the Air Force Falcons, we can look at big man JT Toppin to go over 10.5 Points (-125).

Toppin closed the conference season averaging 12.7 points per game. Though he only registered a 16.9% usage rate against Mountain West opponents, Toppin still put up 9.3 shot attempts per game. He was a consistent producer on offense, notching at least 11 points in 12 of 18 conference games.

The 6'9" freshman isn't known for creating his own shot, but he feasts around the rim. Toppin finished with the fourth-most dunks in the Mountain West, while 68% of his shot attempts came at the rim, per Bart Torvik. He made 69% of those close twos, proving to be an efficient interior finisher.

That bodes well for his points prop tonight given the matchup with Air Force. The Falcons gave up the 15th-highest rate of close twos in the country, allowing opponents to shoot over 60% on such looks.

We saw Toppin dominate Air Force in their first regular season meeting, scoring 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting. They limited him to just 6 points in February's rematch, but he only attempted five shots then. Since that quiet outing, Topping has become a focal point for the Lobos' offense. Over the last three games, Toppin's averaging 16.7 points and 10.3 shot attempts per game, upping his usage rate to 20%.

Against a soft interior defense -- and with his team expected to pour on the points -- consider New Mexico's JT Toppin to go over 10.5 points, currently -125 on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Arizona State vs. Utah, 11:30 p.m. ET

Deivon Smith Over 6.5 Assists (-106)

You'll have to stay up your bedtime to catch the Arizona State Sun Devils face the Utah Utes, but Utah point guard Deivon Smith should make it well worth staying up for.

The senior has had a standout season for the Utes. Despite missing the majority of non-conference play, Smith has been the definition of a floor general in Pac-12 action. Across 20 conference games, Smith led the Pac-12 with 7.1 assists per game. His 43% conference assist rate ranked fifth nationally.

Smith's playmaking really took off after he cracked Utah's starting lineup on January 14th. Over his final 15 games, Deivon averaged 7.9 assists per game and registered a 26% usage rate.

That sets him up to go over 6.5 assists (-106) tonight -- something he's done in 11 of 15 games as a starter.

A matchup with Arizona State should help him reach at least seven dimes tonight. The Sun Devils had the fourth-worst defensive rating in Pac-12 play, and they allowed the highest effective field goal percentage in conference games. Though Utah lost both meetings with ASU, they still put up 70 and 77 points. Deivon Smith started the most recent matchup against them, dishing out nine assists in the process.

With Smith dishing out at least eight assists 10 times in the last 15 games, I'm interested in diving into some of the alternative markets for this prop, too. Deivon Smith To Record 8+ Assists (+186) has my eye.

Simply put, this prop is just too short for a playmaker of Deivon Smith's caliber. A 143.5 over/under hints at plenty of offense from both sides, so consider Deivon Smith to go over 6.5 assists, currently -106 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
