White Sox Fans Get Amazing News With Latest Yoan Moncada Injury Update

At 13-13, the Chicago White Sox haven't lived up to preseason expectations to open the 2022 campaign. Of course, some of that can be chalked up to playing without Yoan Moncada, who ranked second on the team in WAR in 2021.

The latest update on Moncada is terrific news for White Sox fans, and hopefully it will be the first step in getting them back to the top of the AL Central moving forward.

Yoan Moncada Injury Update

Moncada's 2022 debut has officially been scheduled, as White Sox manager Tony La Russa revealed that Moncada will return for Monday's series opener at home against the Cleveland Guardians.

Moncada looked great in his six Triple-A rehab appearances, slashing .318/.360/.636 with 2 home runs, 5 runs and 5 RBI across 25 plate appearance. He shouldn't have any trouble sliding in near the top of the order and resuming the high level play that fans became accustomed to seeing in 2021.

Despite the slow start to the year, with Moncada returning the White Sox are the favorites, at +105, in FanDuel Sportsbook's odds to win the AL Central.
