An exciting NFC South battle s set to take place in Week 8 as the improving Atlanta Falcons host the Carolina Panthers. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Falcons slated as small 3-point home favorites in a game that is expected to go down to the wire.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 8 NFC South clash.
Chuba Hubbard Fantasy
Start Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard remains a viable starting running back at this point in the season until Christian McCaffrey returns from the injured reserve. The rookie has seen double-digit carries and hauled in at least 1 pass in each of the last five games (4 starts). Hubbard draws a great matchup this week going up against a Falcons' defense that is allowing the seventh-most PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs. Overall, Atlanta has posted the fifth-worst rush defense DVOA rating in the NFL and has allowed 7 total touchdowns to the position. Fantasy managers can start Hubbard with confidence this week.
Kyle Pitts Fantasy
Start Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons: Carolina is a tough matchup for this Atlanta offense, which makes looking at volume crucial. Tight end Kyle Pitts has suddenly become quarterback Matt Ryan's favorite option in the passing game. The talented rookie has caught 16 of his 18 targets for 282 yards and 1 touchdown over his last two games. In fact, he has skyrocketed to the TE7 ranking in PPR scoring leagues despite already going through a bye week. Facing the Panthers will be no easy task, but Pitts is a nightmare for opposing defenses and has shown enough consistency to warrant a start every single week.
Robby Anderson Fantasy
Sit Robby Anderson, WR, Carolina Panthers: It seems to be the same story every week with Panthers' wide receiver Robby Anderson. The sixth-year pro saw a respectable 9 targets in Week 7, but he turned them into just 3 receptions for 14 yards. He simply cannot get on the same page with quarterback Sam Darnold and has now posted a dismal 34.9% catch percentage on the season. Anderson is seeing enough volume to make fantasy managers believe his breakout game is coming soon. However, the risk of him putting up another dud is way too high to start him in Week 8.
Mike Davis Fantasy
Sit Mike Davis, RB, Atlanta Falcons: Mike Davis is seeing his role in the Atlanta backfield diminish very quickly. He was once splitting snaps with fellow running back Cordarrelle Patterson, but Davis saw just 4 carries in Week 7 and failed to be targeted in the passing game for the first time this season. This doesn't line up to be a great bounce-back game, either. The Panthers are giving up the fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs and have allowed just 3 touchdowns to the position. With Patterson taking over the majority of the snaps, it is best to keep Davis on the bench for now.
