Week 17 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Eagles vs Washington

The Washington Football Team (6-9) needs to win in Week 17 in order to make the NFL Playoffs as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles (4-10-1) on Sunday Night Football. Washington is looking to snap a two-game losing streak and are 1.5-point favorites in this one, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL betting odds.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 17 Eagles-Washington showdown.
Miles Sanders Fantasy
Start Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: This is a tough matchup for any Eagles' offensive player, but Miles Sanders is seeing enough work to be considered a solid start this week. Over the last three weeks, Sanders is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and has at least 14 carries in each game. He has also become a receiving threat as he has racked up 74 receiving yards on 9 catches over his last three games. This kind of versatility gives him even more value in fantasy football right now. Washington's front seven is no joke, but Sanders has shown he can make the most of his opportunity when rushing the ball. Start him this week.
Logan Thomas Fantasy
Start Logan Thomas, TE, Washington Football Team: Here we have a tight end that continues to shine in this Washington offense. Logan Thomas has caught 20 of his 28 targets over the last two games for 164 yards. It is not often that a tight end sees that much work in the passing attack. He has become to go-to target no matter who is operating the offense. He draws a decent matchup this week as the Eagles rank within the top-15 NFL teams when it comes to the highest amount of yards (798) and touchdowns (8) given up to opposing tight ends. Continue to ride Thomas' hot streak and start him in your TE slot this week.
Jalen Hurts Fantasy
Sit Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Rookie Jalen Hurts has quietly burst onto the fantasy football scene given his ability to both pass and rush the ball. Hurts has passed for over 300 yards and rushed for over 60 yards in each of the last two games. However, he faces a much tougher defense in Week 17. Washington is only giving up 198.0 passing yards per game (No. 3 in the NFL) and has allowed the third-least fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. This looks like a game in which the Eagles will have to rely on the running game more than usual. It would be best to keep Hurts on your bench this week.
JD McKissic Fantasy
Sit JD McKissic, RB, Washington Football Team: JD McKissic has been impressive over the last two weeks catching at least 8 passes and scoring a touchdown in each game. This one simply comes down to the matchup as the Eagles have been able to shut down receiving running backs all season. They have given up the seventh-least receiving yards to opposing running backs (462) as well as just 1 touchdown (tied for third-least in the NFL). Washington will likely rely on starter Antonio Gibson to guide them in this must-win game by rushing the ball. In that case, McKissic just doesn't have enough upside to be started this week.
