Ball boys (or girls) seated along the baselines most of the time are there to pick up some lazy foul balls and hand them to kids or other fans in the stands. A fun, but usually not too eventful job. However, occasionally they actually have some real baseball talent and end up making some pretty impressive plays when a screaming foul ball comes their way.

And sometimes, they keep other payers and fans out of harm's way. That's exactly what happened to the Oakland Athletics ball boy. When a grounder was ripped foul, heading straight for the Oakland bullpen, this kid hopped off his seat and made an incredibly impressive diving stop.

Surely the pitchers at the end of the bullpen bench were equally impressed and thankful for this kid's heads up play.
