At least one member of the Richmond Flying Squirrels might be taking his team's name a little too literally.

Brett Auerbach made one of the best defensive plays of the year for the San Francisco Giants' Double-A affiliate on Saturday, leaping into the screen near home plate to snare a foul ball. His athletic feat earned him the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.

The jaw-dropped catch was just one of Auerbach's highlights from last night. The catcher/infielder celebrated his 24th birthday with a home run as well, finishing with two hits and three RBIs against the Akron RubberDucks.

While Auerbach's glove earned him national recognition, he's been having a solid season with the bat too, clubbing 15 homers with 50 RBIs and 11 steals in 93 games for Richmond this year. Not bad for a flying squirrel.
