Tyrell Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Quintez Cephus Fantasy Outlook Climb Following Breshad Perriman Release

The Detroit Lions' offense may not be an exciting one from a real-world perspective, but they could offer some interesting fantasy football value in 2021. The departures of Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola free up a whopping 216 targets from 2020 — 38.4% of the team's total.
Breshad Perriman looked set to be one of the team's starting wideouts, but he has now been released, opening up even more opportunity.
Tyrell Williams gets the biggest boost here, but Quintez Cephus and rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown both get a nice boost to their fantasy football values as well.
Tyrell Williams Fantasy
Williams and Perriman were shaping up to be a strange duo, as both do their best work operating as field-stretching deep threats on the outside. Williams has never averaged less than 15.3 yards per reception in any of his five NFL seasons.
Jared Goff may not be the prototypical deep-ball passer, but neither were Philip Rivers or Derek Carr, who both managed to provide Williams with 600-plus yard and 5-plus touchdown seasons.
Now firmly established as the Lion's No. 1 deep threat, Williams carries plenty of boom-or-bust upside.
Quintez Cephus Fantasy
With Golladay injured in 2020, Quintez Cephus' 35 targets ranked third among Lions wideouts, trailing just Jones and Amendola. He turned that volume into 20 receptions and 349 yards, ranking second on the team (min. 10 targets) with 10.0 yards per target.
The 2020 fifth-round pick is still fighting an uphill battle for consistent playing time, but he could offer some big sleeper appeal if he can carve out a role.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Fantasy
Amon-Ra St. Brown is the player really threatening to hold Cephus back. A fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, St. Brown was targeted 3 times on Jared Goff's 9 preseason pass attempts.
That's obviously an incredibly small sample, but already appearing to have his QB's trust and a role in the first-team offense has St. Brown as the favorite to start alongside Williams.
Amon-Ra St. Brown checks in at 184 in The Duel's top 200 fantasy football player rankings for 2021.
