Ty Jerome Stats

The absolute definition a floor general, Ty Jerome was the heart and soul of the national champion Virginia Cavaliers last season, averaging 13.6 points per game (PPG), 5.5 assists per game (APG) and 1.5 steals per game (SPG), while shooting 39.9 percent from 3-point range.

The Virginia product isn't the quickest point guard in the draft, but what he lacks in speed, he makes up for in basketball IQ and fantastic court vision. Jerome is also one of the more consistent scorers entering the draft, owning a career 43.5 field goal percentage.

Jerome does have his weaknesses, however. The 21-year-old prospect is slightly undersized and has less than desirable length, thanks to his 6-foot-4 wingspan. His lack of quickness could also lead to defensive struggles against speedier guards at the next level.

Ty Jerome NBA Draft Predictions

Boston Celtics (No. 22) or Utah Jazz (No. 23)

Addressing their backcourt should be the Boston Celtics' top priority this offseason, especially if Kyrie Irving decides to skip town and sign elsewhere. While he isn't as explosive as Irving or some of the other guards on the Celtics' roster, Jerome could be a good rotational piece thanks to his range and playmaking ability.

The Utah Jazz are another candidate that could select the Virginia guard. Jerome was even former AAU teammates with Donovan Mitchell, which would make for a great draft-day story if Utah decides to reunite the pair. However, Jerome would also fill a need. Jazz point guards Ricky Rubio and David Stockton are unrestricted free agents this offseason, and if one of them walks, Jerome could be enough to bolster the backcourt.
