Despite kicking off the season with a slow start, the Minnesota Twins now have the best odds to win the AL Central, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

At the start of the 2021 MLB Season, the Twins had +140 odds to win the division. Even though they currently have a 5-7 record and have lost their last five games in a row, the Twins are favored to win the AL Central at -110 odds.

As of Thursday, the Twins are just 2.0 games back of the Kansas City Royals for the AL Central lead.

The change in odds has been shocking because it looks like the Twins haven't been playing that well at all as of late. During their five-game losing streak, opposing teams have outscored them 26-14. However, that's not to say that they're a bad team. After all, the Twins are still averaging 5.00 runs per game (T-No. 7 in MLB) while allowing 4.00 (T-No. 10 in MLB).

At the same time, the change in odds could have more to do with the Chicago White Sox's injury issues than it does with how the Twins are playing. The 6-6 White Sox have lost some of their key players like Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez to injuries this season. The odds could shift back in their favor if the team gets healthier down the road.

In the meantime, Twins fans probably won't be upset by their team's new AL Central odds. If the club can start turn things around, maybe the Twins can convince the baseball world that they do deserve to be the divisional favorites.
