Twins Get Bad News With Byron Buxton Injury Update

Minnesota Twins centerfielder Byron Buxton got off to a blazing start to begin the year and was an early MVP contender. Then Buxton went on the injured list with a hip strain in early May. He hasn't returned to Minnesota's lineup since due to some snags in his injury rehab.
And it appears Buxton's recovery timeline will be pushed back once again.

Byron Buxton Injury
Buxton recently impressed during a rehab game in Triple-A, but he's not at a point to resume that assignment yet. The hip strain is still causing issues with the speedster's running, so the team is being cautious about bringing him back.
It's disappointing that Buxton isn't making the progress fans would hope to see by this time. He'd give an immediate boost to a struggling Twins offense that's led to the team owning the fifth-worst record in the majors at 27-41.
As Minnesota continues to toil away this season, don't expect the Twins to rush their star centerfielder back until he's truly 100%.
