Updated (Sunday, Sept. 19, 2:30 p.m. EST): Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with bruised ribs, as X-rays were reportedly negative for the QB. This suggests the injury might not be as serious as it looked initially, so hopefully Tua can get back on the field soon.

Miami Dolphins fans and fantasy managers alike were hoping for a breakout year from Tua Tagovailoa in 2021. Things got off to a solid-enough start, with Tua leading Miami to a Week 1 win while throwing for 202 yards with 1 touchdown to 1 interception.

Unfortunately, the Alabama signal-caller was forced to leave the team's Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills with an injury. We don't have much information other than it is a rib injury, but Tua struggled to walk off the field under his own power before ultimately getting carted to the locker room.

If he's looking at an extended absence, Jacoby Brissett could find himself on the QB2 radar in fantasy football.

Jacoby Brissett Fantasy Outlook

The last time we saw Jacoby Brissett play significant game action was 2019. He finished as the QB23 that year. Even though he's playing with a more dynamic skill-position group in Miami than what he had back in 2019, it's hard to view Brissett as anything more than a low-end QB2.

He only averaged 14.4 fantasy points per game as a starter that year, putting him outside the top 25.

If you're really in a pinch in a two-QB format, Brissett could be a decent QB2 option. His rushing upside (228 yards, 4 TDs in 2019) gives him a decent floor on a weekly basis. But if you're playing in a one-QB league, Brissett can be ignored.

Jaylen Waddle & DeVante Parker Fantasy Outlook

The move from Tua to Brissett likely hurts both Waddle and Parker's fantasy outlook. But the dip might not be as significant as you think.

Both players take a small hit in value, but don't overreact and trade anyone just yet.
