Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer hasn't been shy about making headlines this season, and he's backed that up with some stellar play.
With just a few days remaining in the 2020 MLB regular season, Bauer is making his case for the NL Cy Young award.
This has been, by far, the best year of Bauer's career. His 1.73 ERA, 36.0 percent strikeout rate, 6.1 percent walk rate and 0.79 WHIP are all career-best marks. The advanced numbers back that dominance up, as his 2.93 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) and 2.87 fielding independent pitching (FIP) are also career-bests.
He's not just dominating by his own standards either. That 1.73 ERA is best among qualifying National League pitchers, while he ranks fourth in the NL in strikeouts per 9 innings (12.33) and fifth in walks per 9 (2.10).
FanDuel Sportsbook also gives Bauer's Reds +3500 odds to win the 2020 World Series, which ranks No. 12 in the majors.
