The kicker position is rarely more than an afterthought in fantasy football. Usually dismissed as an unfortunate necessity, many players simply draft their kicker and leave them plugged in as their starter until a bye week ultimately changes things.

That can leave a big edge for savvy fantasy owners though. The position tends to be inconsistent, but in Week 6 one of our streaming picks, Zane Gonzalez, was one of only seven kickers to score double-digit fantasy points while he was owned in less than 20 percent of leagues.

Here are the three top fantasy football kicker streaming options, owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Football leagues, for Week 7.

3. Mike Nugent, New England Patriots (33% Owned)

Not getting any of the fantasy football love that was bestowed on Stephen Gostkowski before him, Mike Nugent has notched a solid 14 fantasy points in two games for the New England Patriots. Playing in the NFL's highest scoring offense should continue to give him plenty of opportunities to score (three field goal and nine extra point attempts so far). The New York Jets rank a middling 16th in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA rankings, and the Pats should spend plenty of time in scoring range on Sunday.

2. Stephen Hauschka, Buffalo Bills (3% Owned)

It's understandable that Stephen Hauschka is available in almost every league — he's averaging fewer than five fantasy points per game. A matchup with the Miami Dolphins should let him turn things around though (for at least one week). Giving up the NFL's most points per game, Miami has only held an opposing kicker below seven fantasy points once, giving up an average of 8.8 per game.

1. Zane Gonzalez, Arizona Cardinals (39% Owned)

Zane Gonzalez is tied for second at the position in fantasy points (58) and third in fantasy points per game (9.7). He leads the NFL in both field goals attempted (19) and made (16), and it makes no sense that he's available in so many leagues. The high-paced Cardinals offense should get Gonzalez plenty of opportunities again this week against the New York Giants, who rank bottom-10 in defensive DVOA. More than just a fringe streaming option, Gonzalez is actually the No. 1 kicker in our Week 7 PPR fantasy football rankings.
