While pundits can question exactly how much closer a top-tier wide receiver gets teams to the Super Bowl, having some explosive pass-catchers is a necessity in the modern NFL. Just look at how hard the New England Patriots' passing game fell off once the talent began to thin out.

Plenty of teams around the league are in need of an upgrade at the position, and the best players on the market could be in line for some huge deals. So let's break down the top-three WRs likely to hit free agency this offseason.

3. Robby Anderson

Robby Anderson has proven to be one of the league's best deep threats. He's averaged at least 14.9 yards per catch in each of the last three seasons. While he's struggled with consistency, Anderson has likely been held back by spending his entire career in the lackluster New York Jets offense. If he lands in the right situation, he could prove to be a great addition, likely at a much-cheaper price tag than the others on this list.

2. A.J. Green

When on the field, A.J. Green is one of the league's premier WRs. He's only played a combined nine games over the past two seasons, though, and that could scare some teams off. Still, for those willing to take the risk, Green has proven he can still produce at an elite level. Despite playing just nine games in 2018, Green tallied 694 receiving yards and six touchdowns, averaging an impressive 15.1 yards per catch. The seven-time Pro Bowler will be 32 years old by the time next season starts, but the talent outweighs the risk with Green.

1. Amari Cooper

Still just 25 years old and coming off a career year, Amari Cooper is likely going to be one of the highest-paid WRs in the league in the not-too-distant future. The Dallas Cowboys' No. 1 option has been flat-out dominant since joining the team, tallying 1,914 receiving yards across 25 regular-season games. There isn't much to say about Cooper that fans don't already know. He's an elite wide receiver, and he's going to get paid like one.
