Defenses are sometimes left as an afterthought in fantasy football, but Week 6 served as another reminder as to just how important they can be. Anyone who got 19 points from the Pittsburgh Steelers D/ST on Sunday can attest to that.

With that in mind, here are our fantasy football defense rankings for Week 7.

Best Fantasy Defense for Week 7

12. Chicago Bears (at LAR)

11. San Francisco 49ers (at NE)

10. Pittsburgh Steelers (at TEN)

The Tennessee Titans are a tough matchup, for sure, but the Pittsburgh Steelers' pass rush is almost always going to offer serious fantasy upside. Not only is Pittsburgh the most blitz-happy team in the NFL (41.1% blitz rate), but their 36.6% pressure rate is good for No. 1 in the NFL (by a margin of over 8 percentage points) and they lead the NFL in sacks with 24 despite having played only five games, compared to six for every other team in the top 10.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (at LV)

8. New England Patriots (vs SF)

7. Dallas Cowboys (at WAS)

The Dallas Cowboys defense isn't great, and without Dak Prescott running the offense, they won't likely be put in as many favorable spots. But they're up against the Washington Football Team. Washington just gave up 14 fantasy points to a New York Giants team that was averaging just 5.4 fantasy points per game heading into Week 6. As 3.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook, the Cowboys are in about as good as spot as the G-Men were.

6. Philadelphia Eagles (vs NYG)

5. Los Angeles Rams (vs CHI)

4. New Orleans Saints (vs CAR)

3. Los Angeles Chargers (vs JAX)

2. Kansas City Chiefs (at DEN)

1. Buffalo Bills (at NYJ)

Surprise. The New York Jets have been a dreamy matchup for fantasy defenses. They just got shut out, giving up 15 fantasy points to the Miami Dolphins. If "The Defense Against the Jets" was a single unit, their 11.2 fantasy points per game would be tied for No. 2 in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills scored 8 against the Jets in Week 1, and they should be in for an even bigger showing as 11.5-point favorites this time around.
