While the Detroit Tigers don't appear on the cusp of a postseason run, this yea has been a step in the right direction for the franchise. Detroit continues to climb out of their rebuild after six straight years of missing the playoffs.
One highlight from the 2021 MLB season has been the emergence of outfielder Akil Baddoo, who finds himself in the hunt for the American League Rookie of the Year award. On Monday night, Detroit received some great injury news surrounding their rookie as he was activated from the 10-day injured list.
Akil Baddoo Injury Update
The rookie outfielder hasn't seen the field since Aug. 10 after an on-field collision sent him to the concussion injured list. But, with his activation on Monday night, Tigers fans should expect to see him in the lineup on Tuesday or in the coming days.
Baddoo has been fantastic through his rookie campaign, proving his spot as the sixth-best odds to win AL Rookie of the Year (+1800). In 93 games, Baddoo is slashing .267/.333/.467 with six triples, 10 home runs, 45 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.
Detroit remains 12.0-games back in the American League Central, but the emergence of Baddoo remains one of the highlights of the 2021 campaign.
