Fantasy Football Playoffs Advice
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 15 TNF clash.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Fantasy
Start Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has stepped back into a starting role since his return from an injury and taken full advantage of it. The former LSU standout has accounted for 200 total yards and 3 touchdowns over his last three games played. He draws a favorable matchup in Week 15 facing a Chargers' defense that has posted the worst rush defense DVOA rating in the NFL. This defense is also allowing the fifth-most PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs. Everything lines up for Edwards-Helaire to have a big game in front of a national audience.
Justin Hebert Fantasy
Start Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers: Yes, the Chiefs' defense has been on fire over the last month or so. However, the numbers here speak for themselves. Justin Hebert has thrown 8 touchdowns compared to just 1 interception in three career games against his divisional rival. Kansas City is allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing signal-callers and still rank in the bottom half of the league when it comes to total DVOA rating. Herbert has proven he has what it takes to perform on the biggest stage and that makes him worth a start in the fantasy football playoffs.
Patrick Mahomes Fantasy
Sit Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: Fantasy managers may not want to bench quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but it is hard to justify starting him in a win-or-go-home playoff matchup. The Pro Bowler ranks as the No. 23 QB in fantasy scoring since Week 11 and has thrown just 2 touchdowns during that same span (2 interceptions). The Chargers picked Mahomes off twice back in Week 3 and have posted the ninth-best pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL. It'd be smart to temper expectations for Mahomes given he is going up against a defense that is giving up the fourth-fewest passing yards per game (207.3).
Jalen Guyton Fantasy
Sit Jalen Guyton, WR, Los Angeles Chargers: Fantasy managers may look at Jalen Guyton's performances over the last two weeks and believe he is worth a start. The third-year pro has hauled in all 7 of his targets for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. That doesn't mean he has reached automatic start level quite yet. Guyton had not topped 50 receiving yards in any of his games prior to Week 13 and is only relevant if he can get open deep down the field. That may be hard against a KC defense that is allowing just 12.5 yards per reception to opposing WRs. Keep Guyton on the bench Thursday night.
