Outside of the Yankees, New York-area sports fans don't have too much going for them right now. Both the Knicks and the Giants have been basement dwellers of their respective leagues for a while (the Knicks for even longer), but Saquon Barkley is at least one player they can look forward to. He is, after all, arguably the most talented and promising active New York athlete.

One thing New York has always had are iconic uniforms. From the Yankees, to the Rangers, to the Giants, most of their blue-blood teams have seen little to no change in uniform for the entire history of their franchise.

So when the Pick6 Instagram account created a mockup of Barkley in a Knicks-inspired football jersey, it came out looking great.

It's a little throwback to those great mid-to-late 90's Knicks teams that had so much success, headlined by Patrick Ewing.

It might not be as clean as the look they sport today, but it's from one of the best times in Knicks history. And New York fans will be hoping it brings a little luck to both franchises in 2020.
