Texans Making One Big Mistake With Head-Coaching Search

The Houston Texans enter a pivotal 2021 offseason that will shape the franchise's outlook moving forward with star quarterback Deshaun Watson. Houston has zeroed in on its new GM, Nick Caserio, and now all eyes are on the Texans' head-coaching search.
However, Houston has neglected to interview one hot candidate, which is incredibly puzzling and could be a massive mistake.
One candidate that’s hot on everyone’s list, Eric Bienemy. #Texans have still NOT sent a request to interview him.

This is the perfect time for the Texans to at least talk to Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. The Chiefs earned a bye in the first round of the NFL playoffs, giving Bieniemy a week off to field initial interviews before he's barred from talking with teams once Kansas City is in a game week.
And with the Chiefs as Super Bowl favorites, it'll likely be more than a month until Bieniemy is available again unless some team upsets them.
It's possible news of a Bieniemy interview will come out later this week, but it's also concerning that Houston would wait so long to interview one of the best head-coaching candidates available. Maybe the Texans' GM search took precedence, but finding the head coach who will try to maximize Watson is important as well.
Bieniemy's history with former MVP Patrick Mahomes makes him a golden candidate to pair with Watson. However, it appears Houston could squander their chance and allow another team to scoop him up, which would be a sour start to a new era.
