The Denver Broncos have officially named their starting quarterback for Week 1's matchup against the New York Giants.

They announced on Wednesday that Teddy Bridgewater beat out Drew Lock in the starting QB battle.

Despite winning the starting job, Teddy Bridgewater still doesn't offer much fantasy football value.

Bridgewater was all sorts of underwhelming in his return to a full-time starting QB role in 2020, throwing for 3,733 yards with just 15 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. His 7.2 adjusted yards per pass attempt (AY/A) ranked just 19th among qualifying QBs, tying him with Gardner Minshew.

He finished as the QB18 in fantasy football for the season, and on a per-game basis that ranking falls to a brutal QB24. That ranking could have been a lot worse if he didn't more than double his career rushing touchdown total with 5 — a mark that we shouldn't necessarily expect him to repeat given he had run for only 4 touchdowns in his previous 34 career starts combined.

It's not like he didn't have any receiving weapons either, throwing to Robby Anderson, D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and Noah Fant could prove to be an upgrade over that trio, but not by a big enough margin to suddenly create any upside here.

Bridgewater can be on your radar in a two-QB league, but in a standard 12-team, one-QB format he should be left undrafted.
