Quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains at odds with the Green Bay Packers organization and now another piece has been added to the puzzle. It has been reported that it drove Rodgers nuts when the team released a certain long time receiver and friend just before the start of the 2020 season.

It may be surprising to hear that the player was Jake Kumerow. Although he wasn't super productive during his time in Green Bay, Kumerow was praised by Rodgers as a reliable and steady player. Rodgers also implied that he thought Kumerow would make the team, but he ended up being cut just one day later.

There's definitely a part of Rodgers that believes the timing of that move was done on purpose. Plus, he has since explained how he wants to have more of a role in personnel decisions as one of the leaders on the team. Kumerow eventually went on to sign with the Buffalo Bills.

While the move may not have had an immediate impact on Rodgers relationship with the Packers, it certainly has now. The decision to cut him was even described as a "death knell" in the relationship. Things just continue to worsen in this situation and there doesn't seem to be a clear end in sight.

Watch out because it could get a lot messier before the regular seasons kicks off in September.
