The Kansas City Chiefs drew first blood in Super Bowl LV, becoming the first team to put points on the board.

Who Scored the First Points in Super Bowl 55?

Harrison Butker scored the first points of Super Bowl LV, hitting a 49-yard field goal.

FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl odds now have Kansas City as 5.5-point favorites after entering the game as 3-point favorites.

While scoring first is obviously a plus, it didn't work out well for the San Francisco 49ers last year, as they ultimately went on to lose to the Chiefs, 31-20. Prior to that, though, teams had won eight of the past nine Super Bowls when scoring first, going 36-18 overall.

Only time will tell if that trend holds. But if you bet on a field goal to be the first score of the game, you're off to a pretty great start in Super Bowl LV.
