The Seattle Seahawks' wide receiver corps is a bit banged up heading into Week 9. D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both played through injuries this past Sunday, so Seattle's depth could be tested at any second.
With these health concerns, the Seahawks are bringing in a wide receiver who was a former first-round pick.
Seattle is signing Laquon Treadwell to its practice squad. He was added to the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad in October, but they released him at the end of the month, allowing him to latch on with a new team.
Treadwell was the No. 23 overall selection by the Minnesota Vikings in 2016. He never lived up to that status, totaling 65 receptions, 701 yards and 2 touchdowns in four seasons. However, Treadwell enjoyed a mini-resurgence with the Jacksonville Jagaurs last year. He posted a career-high 434 yards along with 33 receptions and 1 TD across 12 appearances in 2021.
The speedster gives the Seahawks' offense an experienced depth option at the very least. His ability to stretch the field could help him make a case for playing time behind Metcalf and Lockett.
