Seahawks Get Promising News With Gerald Everett Update

With a short week of rest and Thursday Night Football action against the Los Angeles Rams looming, the Seattle Seahawks were concerned about missing Gerald Everett for a second straight week. Fortunately, head coach Pete Carroll shared a promising update around Seattle's first-year tight end.
Everett missed Week 4 action after testing positive for COVID-19. On Monday, however, Everett turned in his first negative test.

Gerald Everett Update
The league requires multiple negative COVID-19 tests in order to ensure Everett's availability for Thursday, but Carroll is encouraged by the latest update.
"At this point, we're saying there's a chance. He had a good report today, but the report tomorrow is really the crucial one… We'll know more tomorrow, then it'll take another day to have a chance to know if he has a chance."

It looks like Everett is currently trending towards a return in Week 5, which is welcome news for Seattle. Through the first three weeks, Everett has done exactly what the Seahawks were hoping for when they signed him this past offseason.
The fifth-year pro operates as a solid third receiving option behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, pulling in 8 receptions on 9 targets for 77 receiving yards and one touchdown in three games.
