Saints News: Michael Thomas Praises Jameis Winston

The New Orleans Saints' quarterback situation will be monitored closely around the league after Drew Brees' retirement. Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill will battle for the right to carry on the torch from Brees, and they're embracing the challenge of following in Brees' footsteps.
Wideout Michael Thomas recently offered praise of Winston's efforts this offseason.

Thomas seems to be all aboard the Winston hype train heading into this season. The former No. 1 overall pick is the favorite to get the starting nod from head coach Sean Payton, although not everyone is in agreement on that yet. It's good to hear, for Winston's sake, that his effort this offseason is paying off.
Winston attempted just 11 passes for the Saints last season as Hill earned the starting role when Brees was out for four games. Hill was fine during his stint, although not spectacular, which opened the door for a QB competition this summer.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter may have the edge given his previous experience. His leadership skills have been on display this offseason, and New Orleans will need a strong voice to lead this offense in its first season without Brees.
