Royals News: Prospect Emmanuel Rivera Called Up After Impressive Run in Triple-A

The Kansas City Royals could use any source of optimism right now. They've fallen into a tie for the worst record in the AL Central at 33-43, and the team's poor production could use a serious boost if they're to bounce back.
Well, an exciting reinforcement is on the way in prospect Emmanuel Rivera.
The #Royals have called up third baseman Emmanuel Rivera from Triple-A. He's in the lineup tonight after raking with Omaha.

Emmanuel Rivera Royals
The nearly 25-year-old third baseman has been called up after a hot stretch of hitting at the team's Triple-A affiliate in Omaha. He'll make his majors debut on Monday and start the day before his 25th birthday, which is quite the early present.
The Royals are hoping Rivera will gift them some much-needed run production. He's racked up 14 home runs and 40 RBI acorss 44 games for Omaha in 2021. That includes an impressive 9 homers and 19 RBI in the month of June alone while slashing .311/.361/.667.
Kansas City has scored the ninth-fewest runs this season at 313, which isn't enough to compete when they've allowed opponents to score 376 runs against them in 2021. Hopefully Rivera's arrival immediately helps improve the Royals' scoring woes and brings some excitement to the lineup once again.
