Royals News: Kansas City Gets Good News on Adalberto Mondesi Injury Update
By Larry Rupp

The Kansas City Royals have been floating around a .500 record all season and currently sit in third place in the AL Central division at 30-31. However, the team's offense could receive a boost rather soon as Kansas City got good news regarding shortstop Adalberto Mondesi's injury update.

Mondesi participated in batting practice and even did some defensive drills before the Royals' clash against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday night. The speedy shortstop has been hit by the injury bug hard this season and was placed on the 10-day IL on June 6th because of a left hamstring issue.
Royals fans should be excited as Mondesi has played well when healthy so far in 2021. He has posted a .360 batting average to go along with 2 home runs and 5 RBI across 7 games played this season. His speed sets him apart as he led all of baseball with 24 stolen bases during the shortened 2020 season.
Kansas City has yet to provide a concrete timeline for the 25-year-old's return to the diamond, but seeing Mondesi put in work before the game is a great sign. His return to the lineup could be the spark the Royals need to go on a winning streak and get back into postseason contention.
Kansas City currently has odds set at +1400 to win the division, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
