It seems like NFL fans across the country are not the only ones in awe of the Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl run this season. New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh explained how Cincinnati's success inspires him as it shows how developing from within and having patience can pay off.

Jets News

Saleh talked at the Senior Bowl on Tuesday about how quick turnarounds are becoming more frequent in the NFL. He even mentioned how he was a part of one during his time with the San Francisco 49ers. The blueprint is there and he hopes to cash in with the Jets soon enough.

Both the Bengals and Jets won six games each during the 2019 & 2020 seasons. While the Bengals were able to make the jump to a winning record in 2021, the Jets finished at the bottom of the AFC East at 4-13. Saleh remains adamant that things are going to turn around for the franchise.

"We’re excited about the things we’ve got going. Joe and I, we’re in lockstep. We see it exactly the same. We’re excited to attack this offseason and build this roster."

Saleh made sure to point out that GM Joe Douglas echoes his optimism about the Jets' future. The team has two top-10 picks in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft and a young QB in Zach Wilson. The 22-year-old threw for 423 yards & 3 touchdowns (0 interceptions) in the final three games of the season.

Jets fans have to be sick and tired of waiting for results, though. The team has not made the playoffs since making a run to the AFC Championship game in 2010. The Jets haven't even had a single winning season since that year. It'll be interesting to see if Saleh can change that fact in 2022.
