NFL free agent cornerback Richard Sherman has yet to sign with an NFL team this offseason and recently mentioned on First Take that he would fit in well with the New Orleans Saints' defense. However, he also took time to hype up the team's 2021 draft pick in Paulson Adebo.

The Saints traded up in the third round to draft Adebo No. 76 overall this past weekend and he could push for playing time right out of the gate with a strong showing in training camp. He came as a bit of a steal for the Saints given he was selected after his expected draft position.

Sherman has likely seen Adebo play before and knows a lot about his game given both ballhawks attended Stanford University. Adebo definitely made a name for himself in college racking up 97 tackles (5.0 for loss), 8 interceptions and 27 pass breakups over the course of two seasons (22 games played).

It has to be great for Adebo to hear some positive words from one of the NFL's top cornerbacks. Sherman has been named to five Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams in his career while playing in 10 NFL seasons split between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

The Saints are widely expected to attempt to upgrade their defense throughout the rest of the offseason, whether that is in free agency or through a trade. All things considered, maybe the cornerback position isn't as big of a need as New Orleans fans have come to think it is.
