Dwayne Haskins had and up-and-down rookie campaign, but he really showed some signs down the stretch. Before leaving his final game of the season due to injury, he completed 12-of-15 passes for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns, with no turnovers.
Redskins Starting QB Week 1 Odds
While he's far from a lock, he might've done enough to earn the starting job, as he's currently heavily favored to be the Washington Redskins Week 1 starter, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Haskins (-260) is far ahead of Washington's new backup QB Kyle Allen (+170) to start in Week 1.
Interestingly, though, Cam Newton (+1100) has the third-best odds. Still a free agent, Newton has been linked to the Redskins all throughout the offseason, in large part due to his relationship with Washington's new head coach Ron Rivera.
Following Newton, Tua Tagovailoa (+1700) has the fourth-best odds of the bunch. Armed with the No. 2 pick in the draft, picking Tua isn't out of the question, but most conventional wisdom suggests that Washington is going to select Ohio State defensive end Chase Young. Andy Dalton (+2000) and Jameis Winston (+2600) round out the rest of the top six.
While Haskins is currently the favorite to start for the Redskins in Week 1, Allen will clearly be competing for the job – and the odds suggest they could still bring in another passer.
