Tampa Bay Rays starter Tyler Glasnow was a serious All-Star candidate to start the season. However, he was forced to exit early during his start on June 14 and placed on the injured list with a flexor strain and partial UCL tear.
Tampa is eager to get their ace back as the AL East race heats up, and the good news is he's making progress toward a return.
Tyler Glasnow Injury Update
Rays manager Kevin Cash said the 27-year-old is feeling "really good" playing catch, which is one positive step as he works his way back to the rotation. Glasnow resumed light throwing recently and it's great to hear there are no issues flaring up so far.
Glasnow boasts a 5-2 record this year with a 2.66 ERA and 123 strikeouts over 88.0 innings. His return will be a huge key to Tampa staying in the division title race.
The Rays own the second-best odds to win the AL East at +125, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
