The Los Angeles Rams suffered a massive blow in Week 6 after left tackle Joe Noteboom went down with a serious injury. Tests have confirmed Noteboom tore his Achilles, knocking him out for the rest of the year and downgrading an already-struggling offensive line.
Los Angeles has moved quickly to add some tackle depth in the aftermath of Noteboom's unfortunate injury.
Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports LA is signing Ty Nsekhe to its active roster. This move steals him from the Indianapolis Colts, who only had Nsekhe on their practice squad, making him at risk of being scooped up by another team if given a spot on a 53-man roster.
Nsekhe is the exact kind of target tackle-needy squads would go for if injuries arose. He's an eight-year NFL veteran, spending time with Washington, Buffalo and Dallas from 2015-2021. He also entered the league in 2012 with the then-St. Louis Rams.
All in all, Nsekhe has played in 93 career games, including 17 starts. Aside from his valuable experience, he boasts mammoth size at 6-foot-8, 325 pounds that should help him make an immediate impact in Noteboom's absence.
