Raiders Sign Veteran Depth for Wide Receiver Group

The Las Vegas Raiders have made it a priority this offseason to keep quarterback Derek Carr surrounded by elite weapons on offense. They traded for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, signed Demarcus Robinson in free agency and have now brought in veteran Keelan Cole as well.
Former Jaguars’ and Jets’ WR Keelan Cole is signing a 1-year deal with the Raiders, per source.

Cole has been inked to a one-year deal and is set to compete for reps alongside the likes of Robinson, Bryan Edwards and Mack Hollins. There's surely no shortage of targets to go around considering Carr finished with the fifth-most passing attempts in the NFL last season (626).
The 29-year-old pass-catcher has appeared in at least 15 games in each of his five NFL seasons and averages 14.4 yards per reception in his career. Most recently, Cole racked up 449 yards and 1 touchdown on 28 catches for the New York Jets in his sole season with the organization in 2021.
The upside with this signing is that Cole has been able to produce in the past despite not having high quality quarterbacks throwing his way. He has also thrived in the slot position, scoring 7 of his 13 career touchdowns from the inside. Cole lines up as the perfect backup to starter Hunter Renfrow.
The Raiders hope a revamped offense can keep their momentum from last season going and help them make some noise in a talented AFC West division. Las Vegas currently has odds set at +700 to win the division and odds set at +4000 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
