The Las Vegas Raiders gutted out an intense overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. EDGE Maxx Crosby was the center of the Raiders' win, wreaking havoc on the Ravens' O-line and putting constant pressure on Lamar Jackson.
Crosby's performance on Monday Night Football was so good that he took home AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
That's quite a promising start for the 24-year-old, and it could be a sign of a dominant 2021 campaign.
Crosby proved to be a disruptive presence all night for Jackson. He racked up 2.0 sacks and 5 QB hits, plus 2 tackles for loss as well.
Crosby has racked up at least 7.0 sacks in each of his first two NFL seasons, and he could crush the career-high mark of 10.0 he set as a rookie in 2019. His ascension to a top edge rusher in the league would give this defense a serious boost and may be vital to the Raiders breaking their playoff drought.
