The Las Vegas Raiders head into Week 1 with plenty of reasons for optimism. Two big offseason additions in Davante Adams and Chandler Jones set them up to be a potential contender in the AFC after making the playoffs last year.

Despite adding star talent, the Raiders were somehow still disrespected by Peter King's 2022 season predictions.

King revealed his projected standings at the end of the regular season on Monday. He has the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals earning seeds 1-6 for the playoffs. In the final No. 7 spot, he sees the Miami Dolphins making the postseason with a 9-8 record, winning a tiebreaker over the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas.

It's hard to see this as anything other than the NFL world doubting the Raiders again. Miami has a major question mark at quarterback, while Derek Carr is coming off of a career-high 4,804 passing yards in 2021. He helped lead this team to the postseason while losing Henry Ruggs and having Darren Waller play in just 11 games due to injury.

Now, the Waller-Adams-Hunter Renfrow trio is set to be one of the very best pass-catching groups in the league. And this middle-of-the-pack defense in 2021 should take a leap with a star edge rusher in Jones in the fold.

It appears Las Vegas will have to prove people wrong once again in 2022. FanDuel Sportbook's NFL odds peg the Raiders as underdogs (+170) to make the playoffs prior to Week 1.
