Players to Drop for Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups in Fantasy Football

Seven weeks of the 2021 campaign are already in the books. The fantasy football playoff picture is starting to shape up, and bye weeks are here. You can't afford to waste any roster space.
Every waiver wire pickup is crucial at this stage, and knowing how to make roster space for those adds is key.
Week 8 Waiver Wire
You don't want to cut ties with high-upside players, but you also don't want duds hanging around taking up valuable bench space.
Fantasy Football Players to Drop
With that in mind, here are three players, all rostered in at least 50 percent of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues, that you can drop to make space for Week 8 wavier wire pickups.
1. Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago Bears
This one may seem extreme given his preseason projections, but Allen Robinson has been a true fantasy football nonfactor. Over the last five weeks, A-Rob has converted 25 targets into just 15 receptions for 191 yards. He is 81st in per-game fantasy scoring among all wide receivers in that time. And realistically, there's no clear path to Robinson working his way back to relevance as a starting option. In the next four weeks he has a bye (Week 10) plus two matchups against defenses that have held opposing wideouts to bottom-12 fantasy production on the year.
2. Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
We haven't seen Brandon Aiyuk warming the bench like he did in Week 1, but his role in the San Francisco 49ers' offense has simply not been what was projected before the season. He's eclipsed 4 targets just once in six games this year, and he's averaging 1.8 touches per contest. His 16 targets account for just 8.6% of the team's total this year, and the offense simply isn't good enough for their No. 4 or 5 receiving option to offer any fantasy value.
3. Alex Collins, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Rashaad Penny didn't totally unseat Alex Collins as the Seattle Seahawks' RB1 on Monday, but Collins' snap share fell from 71% in Week 5 and 60% in Week 6 to just 39% in Week 7. Despite returning from a five-week absence, Penny was just behind Collins with a 36% snap share. This offense is absolutely anemic with Geno Smith under center, and the Seahawks have a Week 9 bye with Chris Carson eligible to return as soon as Week 10. Don't get sucked in by a soft Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
