Phillip Lindsay is one of the most under-appreciated running backs in the league. An undrafted free agent, Lindsay racked up back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons his first two years in the NFL before being limited to just 11 games in an injury-plagued 2020 campaign.
And now, it appears as if Lindsay and the Denver Broncos have agreed to part ways.
With that in mind, here are the three most likely destinations for Lindsay in free agency.
Phillip Lindsay Free Agency
3. Kansas City Chiefs
Broncos fans sure won't like this one. But it actually makes a ton of sense for both Lindsay and the Kansas City Chiefs. For one, Lindsay gets to join a Super Bowl contender while getting revenge on his former team. And we've seen the Chiefs make a move like this countless times, most recently with Le'Veon Bell. Lindsay could be a great low-cost, high-reward backup to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who did deal with a significant injury as a rookie.
2. Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins need some help at RB. Now that a Pro Bowl-caliber one just hit the market, expect Brian Flores to be on the phone. Lindsay would form an excellent one-two punch with second-year RB Myles Gaskin. Miami still also has a decent amount of cap space to burn this offseason, so it can put together an enticing offer.
1. New York Jets
If it's money Lindsay wants, no one has more of it than the New York Jets. Luckily for Lindsay, no team has a bigger hole at RB than New York either. And he's still just 26 years old, meaning he'd be a great with this young team's timeline. Expect the Jets to be relatively aggressive in pursuit of the 2018 Pro Bowler.
