Phillies Get Concerning J.T. Realmuto Injury Update

The Philadelphia Phillies kicked off their game Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers on a sour note. Catcher J.T. Realmuto took back-to-back foul balls off of his mask, the second of which made him drop to the ground and exit early.
Now the team will wait on the results to see if Realmuto suffered a concussion.

J.T. Realmuto Injury
The news of a possible concussion is concerning. It's an injury that affects every player differently, and a speedy recovery isn't a given. With the Phillies in the thick of a heated NL East race, they can't afford to lose one of their key contributors right now.
The 30-year-old catcher has been one of the most dependable bats in Philly's lineup this year. He's recorded 13 home runs and 52 RBI while slashing .268/.351/.452 across 93 games.
Even a week-long loss of the 2021 All-Star would be a blow to the Phillies' pursuit of the division crown. They currently own the best odds at +120 to win the NL East, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
