Phil Mickelson Working Toward Contention at 2021 Masters After Impressive Round 3

It's moving day at the 2021 Masters, and 3-time champ Phil Mickelson is moving up the leaderboard. Mickelson made the cut on the number (+3) and went out early Saturday alongside Billy Horschel.

While a majority of the early starters have struggled, Lefty posted a 3-under-par score on Saturday. That's the best round of the day as the top-10 players on the leaderboard get set to tee off in Round 3.

Mickelson has posted four birdies and a bogey during Round 3. He got off to a slow start Thursday shooting 75, but came back with even par 72 Friday to make the cut for the 22nd time in 25 appearances. Mickelson has 13 top-10 finishes at the Masters and won three green jackets.
Mickelson's Masters odds to win were +16000 at FanDuel Sportsbook prior to the tournament. A top-20 finish is still possible, and the odds of that were +450 for Mickelson. He's currently tied for 21st.
Mickelson was also listed in a tournament match-up as a +136 underdog against Matthew Wolff (-168). Wolff was going to miss the cut, but was disqualified from the Masters following the second round for signing an incorrect scorecard.
So while Mickelson might not win the Masters, his Round 3 performance is certainly putting him in a good spot on the leaderboard.
