The Minnesota Vikings were hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive with a win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 17. That task will now be a lot tougher after quarterback Kirk Cousins was ruled out for Sunday's game following a positive COVID-19 test.

The odds for this NFC North clash have taken a dramatic turn in the aftermath of the Cousins news.

Vikings vs Packers Odds

The Packers opened the week as 6.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook to defeat Minnesota at Lambeau Field. Following the Cousins news, Green Bay has jumped up to decisive 13.5-point favorites against the Vikings.

Minnesota obviously faces a difficult path to victory after losing their starting QB. Backup Sean Mannion may earn the nod on Sunday Night Football, but he's been less than impressive in relief duties before.

The Vikings could potentially turn to rookie Kellen Mond to replace Cousins, though there's no telling how the young signal-caller would fare in his first taste of NFL action.

Minnesota's struggles with COVID have popped up once again at the worst time possible, and it could potentially destroy any chance at this team rallying to make the playoffs.
