College football bowl season is finally here. One intriguing matchup this year is the Orange Bowl, which will pit the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs against the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines.

The 2021 Orange Bowl will take place on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021.

Orange Bowl History

The Orange Bowl has been played since 1935. It has featured teams from the ACC, SEC and Big Ten conferences, as well as Notre Dame, since 1999.

Georgia has previously appeared in three Orange Bowl games, going 2-1. The Bulldogs' last appearance came in 1960, where they defeated Missouri, 14-0.

Michigan has also previously appeared in three Orange Bowl games, going 1-2. The Wolverines' last appearance came in 2016, where they lost 33-32 to Florida State.
