D.K. Metcalf Stats

Just take one look at D.K. Metcalf's body type and you can understand why he's such an enticing prospect to so many NFL scouts. He has the size of a linebacker and has the athletic ability to torch a cornerback. Having said that, injuries remain an issue for Metcalf.

Metcalf missed all but two games in the 2016 season with a broken foot, and he didn't have the 2018 season many were expecting either. After just seven games in 2018, Metcalf suffered a season-ending neck injury against Arkansas in October that required surgery. In those seven games, he showed off his dominance with 26 catches for 569 yards and five scores. His career stats aren't overly impressive, but watching him on the field shows why he's considered to be the top wideout in this class.

D.K. Metcalf NFL Draft Projection

First Round: No. 9-30 Overall

D.K. Metcalf NFL Mock Draft Prediction

Buffalo Bills (No. 9), Oakland Raiders (No. 24, No. 27)

Some analysts have Metcalf going as high as No. 9 overall to the Buffalo Bills, while others have him potentially slipping out of the first round. It's hard to imagine him moving toward the second day, especially with his fit in Buffalo. This team has their quarterback of the future in Josh Allen, who has a cannon for an arm, so it's a great time to pair him with a receiver with this kind of explosiveness.

If he does fall to the bottom of the first round, don't be surprised if the Oakland Raiders scoop him up. They traded Amari Cooper to the Cowboys for a first-round pick last season, and Oakland swung and missed on additions like Martavis Bryant and Jordy Nelson. They have larger needs, but they could have two opportunities to snag Metcalf with the No. 24 or No. 27 pick at the end of the first round.
