Nearly everyone around the league expects the Atlanta Falcons to struggle in 2022. This roster has undergone a slew of major changes, most notably at quarterback, and there's bound to be struggles as new faces get settled in. They're also slated to play one of the toughest schedules in the NFL.

Despite all of this, wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus thinks his team may be able to surprise the doubters.

Zaccheaus recently said "I feel like we're a playoff team," according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. His confidence is admirable, though it is difficult to see these dreams turning into a reality.

"We just (have) to put everything together. Really start fast at the beginning of the season and not get into a hole. I just feel like as a team, we can shock a lot of people."

Quarterback is a huge question mark for the Falcons as they begin the post-Ryan era. A traditional QB competition appears to be brewing between veteran Marcus Mariota and rookie Desmond Ridder, yet there's no guarantee either plays well enough to elevate this roster.

Zaccheaus is also part of a totally different WR room in Atlanta that's hard to project at the moment with recent arrivals like Drake London and Bryan Edwards expected to take on big roles right away. The defense is expected to feature several new starters as well after adding Casey Hayward Jr., Lorenzo Carter and Rashaan Evans.

There'll inevitably be some growing pains as this revamped squad adjusts to the changes this offseason brought. That's a tough task on its own, but Arthur Smith will have to juggle this while drawing a schedule that's considered one of the top-10 most difficult in the league.

Considering all of this, Atlanta faces a tough path to the playoffs. It's no surprise to see NFL win total odds on FanDuel Sportsbook favor the Falcons at -120 to record under 4.5 wins in 2022.
