The Oklahoma Sooners capped off an up-and-down 2020 season with a 55-20 rout of the Florida Gators in the Cotton Bowl.
Head coach Lincoln Riley will look to keep the team's momentum going into the fall as the Sooners open as massive road favorites against the Tulane Green Wave in Week 1.
The Sooners are currently 25.5-point favorites over the Green Wave, according to Week 1 College Football Odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. That shouldn't come a shock given Tulane struggled to play consistent football last season and finished with a 6-6 overall record.
It has been reported that Oklahoma will be joining the SEC conference as early as 2025, but they remain a powerhouse in the Big 12 for now. The Sooners have have dominated as of late capturing each of the last six Big 12 titles and posting a combined 47-6 conference record over that span.
Sophomore quarterback Spencer Rattler headlines a team full of playmakers on both sides of the ball. The Heisman hopeful will be looking to build off his 2020 season in which he completed 67.5% of his passes for 3,031 yards, 28 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He also racked up 6 rushing TDs.
Oklahoma couldn't have asked for a better Week 1 matchup as Tulane gave up the 13th-most passing yards per game in all of college football last season (278.7). The Sooners enter the season as the No. 3 ranked team in the preseason top 25 and should have no trouble starting off the season with a win.
