Odell Beckham Jr. has gotten off to an incredible start to the season. The Cleveland Browns' superstar is currently the WR13 in PPR formats after racking up 366 yards from scrimmage and 4 touchdowns through five weeks.
Unfortunately, fantasy football managers got some bad news on Thursday, as Beckham was sent home from the Browns facility due to an undisclosed illness. He's reportedly waiting for the results of his COVID-19 test, and his status for Sunday's Week 6 game appears to be in flux.
Odell Beckham Jr. Fantasy Outlook
Were Beckham to test positive for covid, he'd almost certainly be sidelined for the Browns' upcoming matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He'd also be in jeopardy of missing the team's Week 7 game with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Of course, there's a strong chance that Cleveland is just being overly cautious, so as not to risk any potential exposure to the rest of the team.
If Beckham is unable to suit up, Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper would see a pretty sizable boost in fantasy value this week. Beckham has seen 39 targets on the year, which is by far the most on the team.
Without Beckham, Landry would be a low-end WR2 in PPR formats, while Hooper would have a shot at TE1 value, though both are in an admittedly tough matchup against the Steelers.
