When The Northern Trust kicks off this Thursday, it will mark the beginning of the 2019 FedExCup Playoffs. The FedExCup is golf's equivalent of a season-long championship, with this year's winner receiving a $15 million prize, after a 50 percent increase in the winner's prize money from 2018.

The playoff is comprised of three tournaments, eliminating a group of golfers in each tournament along the way until the top-30 points leaders remain to compete in the Tour Championship, which is the third and final event of the playoff. Sandwiched in between The Northern Trust and the Tour Championship is the BMW Championship. And heading into the playoff, Brooks Koepka holds a commanding lead in the odds to win.

FedExCup Standings

As you can see, Tiger Woods has fallen outside the top-10 odds to win the FedExCup, which tells a different story than most of the tournaments he's played in this season. Tiger currently sits at +2700 with the 13th-best odds to win.

Whichever golfer comes out on top, it will likely take some great golf to outlast the best in the world. Koepka has been tearing it up all year, especially in majors, while someone like Rory has shown the opposite. With $15 million on the line, you can surely expect everyone to be bring their best game.
